Euromedic Kilkenny Opens
10/19/2011
Euromedic Ireland, the leading primary care diagnostic imaging
provider, has announced the opening of its new medical scanning
facility in Kilkenny City. Opening on the 3rd October
2011, the clinic will serve as a primary care diagnostic scanning
facility offering MRI, X-ray, Ultrasound and DXA scans to over 400
GPS and a potential 450 thousand patients in Kilkenny and the
South-East region. The opening of the Kilkenny clinic is part
of Euromedic Ireland's wider expansion plan in Ireland.
Euromedic Ireland is focused on servicing the needs of GPs and
their patients and is used by over 90% of GPs in
Ireland. Located in Dean Street in Kilkenny City
Centre, Euromedic Kilkenny will employ over five people, including
medical and administration staff. The centre in
Kilkenny will provide a first class diagnostic service to GPs by
offering fast access to scans with results in 24 hours. The
opening of the diagnostic centre coincides with the opening of the
Ayrfield Primary Care Centre in the City and will greatly improve
access to healthcare services for people in the region.
Commenting on the opening of Euromedic Kilkenny, Colm Davitt,
Chief Executive, Euromedic Ireland, said: "The opening of our
Kilkenny clinic is a concrete demonstration of a significant
contribution by Euromedic to healthcare in the South-East of
Ireland. People throughout the South-East are currently waiting
anything up to seven months for important diagnostic procedures
such as MRI and Ultrasound scans. Our aim is to reduce these
waiting lists by offering GPs access to our state-of-the-art
technology and medical expertise to provide expert analysis within
24 hours."
Mr Davitt continued: "The opening of Kilkenny is part of
our expansion plan, which aims to ensure that all patients
throughout Ireland are within an hour's access to an MRI. We
aim to deliver diagnostic services to communities throughout
Ireland, which is perfectly in line with the Government's primary
healthcare strategy."
Euromedic Kilkenny will join Euromedic Ireland's four other
diagnostic centres in Dublin and Cork: Euromedic Charlemont
(Dublin City), Euromedic Dundrum (South Dublin), Euromedic
Northwood (Santry, North Dublin) and Euromedic Cork (Cork City
Centre). The company also provides MRI services in Sligo
General Hospital and the Ulster Independent Clinic in
Belfast.
Euromedic Kilkenny will officially open its doors from 09.00 am
- 5.30 pm on Monday 3rd October 2011. To book an
